Frozen Motion; Snapper Rocks

Darren Tierney and I spent most of yesterday driving up and down the Gold Coast and Northern NSW beaches taking photos. We started at Snapper Rocks in the morning, and made our way down to Byron Bay around lunch time. Mid afternoon came around, and so did a storm front; we thought that sunset was going to be pretty average so we headed back to Darren’s place. Looking out the window about 20 minutes before sunset we noticed a huge double rainbow and some nice light forming over the ocean, so we rushed down to the beach, about 500m from his apartment. Sunset was epic.

The shot below was one of the first, taken at Snapper Rocks. I spent a while waiting for the waves to crash against the rocks trying to get the timing right, while speaking to a man by the name of Brad.

I shot a huge amount of frames, and had a lot of fun messing around with the new camera. This was my first shoot with the Canon 5D MkII and I loved it. More images to come!
