The Devil's Marbles, Northern Territory

The Devil’s Marbles

The Devil’s Marbles, in the Northern Territory of Australia, is a place that I had wanted to go to for a long time. I’d seen photographs of it in my favourite landscape photography books and online for years, and something about the place just caught my imagination. Being in the middle of nowhere in the centre of Australia it seemed so, so far away… Finally, last year I had a chance to drive through the area while circumnavigating Australia by car. The place was fantastic, and the rocks really lit up during the magic hours – at sunrise and sunset. In this photo you can see only one of the large stacks of boulders, but there are many more around the area.

Beautiful shot. The lighting is perfect. What do you shoot?

Definitely worth the visit Beau. And a lovely shot – great colour in all the elements – and nicely arranged in their composition.

..and a word to say thank you for your visit.

Nicely taken, love the great blues and reds combo, and the gorgeous light.

I drove from Darwin to Perth back in the 90s with a few mates in an old Ford Falcon. Fantastic trip.
