In the cold darkness of Perth’s winter the sky slowly lightened and it became obvious that this was going to be a stunning sunrise. Overhead the clouds were quite thick, however, where the sun was going to hit the horizon there was a slit of clear sky. It was raining, ever so lightly, but just not enough to be a hindrance to my camera and ND filter.
After 20 odd minutes of setting up (and watching the clouds move overhead) the sky began turning all shades of red and orange.
