The pylons of an old jetty reach out into Port Phillip Bay in Clifton Springs, near Geelong, Victoria.
It doesn’t happen very often, but sometimes all the elements in a frame come together perfectly at just the right time. Earlier in the afternoon before I took this photo the sky was almost completely overcast, and I thought that I wasn’t going to be able to capture any colour during sunset. However, the wind picked up a little late in the day and the sky began to clear along the horizon. The few clouds that remained during sunset picked up a little colour from the suns final rays. Using an neutral density filter, I exposed this shot for 4 minutes to completely smooth out the water and blur the clouds to evoke the feeling of calmness that I was feeling at the time.
