During my trip to Iceland I spend one of my days hiking a glacier. It was one of the coolest experiences I’ve had in my life (excuse the pun)! I really loved the textures of the ice here from the cracks in the foreground leading up to the jagged shards further up the mountain.
My guide for the day, Einar Sigurðsson, holds the record for the most successful climbs to the summit of Iceland’s highest mountain, pictured to the left of the frame, having climbed it over 250 times. His grandfather was the first person to reach the summit way back in 1891.
Einar is quite a talented photographer himself. View his work.
