From Photograph To Painting

Over the past few weeks artist Michael J Summers has been loosely recreating some of my photographs using acrylic paint on canvas. This morning I stopped by Michael’s gallery / studio and got to see the work he’d been doing with my photos. The vivid colours in my photographs – captured at sunset – caught Michael’s attention, which he has managed to transfer across onto the canvas with his brush and paint. Being such large sized paintings, obviously they look much better viewed in person, but I have included a few web sized copies below.

As usual, click on the images to view them larger.

If you are interested in purchasing either of these paintings, please visit Michael at his Applecross gallery (791 Canning Highway) or phone the gallery on (08) 9316 0060.

Mate – these are looking very cool – it’s quite an honour to have someone paint your shots… Awesome stuff
